How do I attach an oil painting to a wood frame without using the clips?

Screw offsets into the back of the frame, or a bent nail. How do I attach an oil painting to a wood frame without using the clips?
You can staple strips of canvas across the corners of the stretcher bars and to the back of the frame. How do I attach an oil painting to a wood frame without using the clips?
if the frame has a lip (the part that covers the front edge of the canvas, just aim a staple gun diagonally so the staple hits the canvas stretcher and the frame. if the frame has no lip, hammer some very thin nails throught the frame and into the stretcher
Can't understand why you'd want to. If you are making the frame then make the canvas an interference fit so no glue or clips required.
