How much sand do you put in porch paint to be painted on wood porch so it isn't slippery?

The packaging of silica should give an amount (probably per gallon) that you have to add.

I generally don't recommend paint on a porch because if it is exposed to the elements (ie. water), paint WILL PEEL. Solid body stain is better.

Home stores and paint stores offer a silica additive for this purpose. It is relativly cheap and will stay in suspension longer than sand. How much sand do you put in porch paint to be painted on wood porch so it isn't slippery?
If you mix it in the paint, it will just sink to the bottom. Sprinkle it on the wet paint. Then maybe let it dry and apply another coat.
