How much does it cost to paint a room and have wood paneling taken off?

an average sized room. an average cost. thanks for helping me.How much does it cost to paint a room and have wood paneling taken off?
If I was hired to do the job it would depend on the size of the room. lets say 12ft x 12ft room. Removal was paneling about $125 - $175. To patch, and sand the wall from the paneling. Prime the wall after sanding. Paint, material, and labor. I'd say would be an additional $450.00. Total cost of bill, about $575.00 - $650.00. I do professional painting on the side and this seems about right. It is hard to give an estimate without looking at the room though. If the paneling is not all the way around the room then the cost would be less. How much does it cost to paint a room and have wood paneling taken off?
Less than 200.00 But you gotta do it yourself. All you need in paint, supplies and your on your way. You can do it- why give someone else your hard earned $
To those suggesting it is cheaper to DIY, that is not always the case. I have found it better to work overtime or do side jobs in my expertise and pay someone to do some work. I get better quality work and it is done faster than I could do it. The overtime %26amp; extra jobs help my career and opens doors in my field.

There are circumstances like age, pregnancy or arthritis that can make it difficult for people to perform tasks , even if they aren't handicapped.

I wanted to suggest painting panelling. I have seen the old knotty pine panelling painted white and it was very appealing ; like something you'd find in a charming cottage.. I visited a house where cheap faux wood panelling (that has grooves) in it was painted. With heavy textured paint, they didn't even have to fill in the grooves.. They troweled the walls a little to give it texture %26amp; depth , but it was overall a smooth finish. It made the room look expensive and upgraded the house value.

If you are willing to get rid of the panelling you might try painting a small section of it first. If you like it you can save a lot of time and money. If not, you were going to rip it out anyway. Of all DIY projects , painting walls is the easiest. Unless you are really sloppy, and don't follow the directions , it will turn out ok. Noone will notice small mistakes.

Doing it yourself? Remove the wood paneling yourself. = free.

Be prepared for patch work under neath the paneling. spackling = about $5. Sandpaper=about $5.

2 gallons of paint (2 coats a must)=$40 bucks

If trim is differant color=$20.

1 gallon for ceiling (2 coats if necessary)=$20

Oh yea...roller, brush, plastic to cover furniture, etc. =$15.

If you hire someone....Add at least $35. per hour to supplies listed.
