hanging with a wire lets you get away with just one hole in your wall...and when you hang with wire, the bottom of the painting is flush to the wall while the top leans out a bit...this is how paintings were meant to be hung...if you dont want wires i would get a keyhole bit for a router and cut a screw slot on each side of the frame near the top...How to a hang a 36x24 wood-canvas painting? You don't want wires? Or there are no wires? If there aren't any, and you want some, get some and use them.
If you just don't want wires, you can attach loops to the frame in the upper corners and hang from those, or you can put a clip on the top in the middle and hang from that.
