I have old fashioned cubboards and the paint it two toned and it looks terrible, would like to update them with light oak color of paintHow difficult is it to paint wood kitchen cubboards?
Painting cabinets isn't that hard to do.

The recommended way to do it:

1. Remove all the doors and door handles.

2. Make sure you number or label the doors so you know where each door belongs when it come times to put them back up.

3. Prime

4. Paint.

5. Put the doors back up and put the handles back on.

The ';Quick and Dirty'; way to do it:

1. Leave the doors on.

2. Remove the handles.

3. Prime the doors and cabinets.

4. Paint them.

5. Put the handles back on.

I painted our cabinets using the ';Quick and Dirty'; method. Much easier. You just have to be careful around the hinges. (I used an artist's paint brush to get into the crevices.)

I recommend you paint the inside of the doors as well as the outside. It looks much better that way.

Of note: Since your cabinets already have a coat of paint on them, you won't need to sand them. If they had never been painted before, the wood should be lightly sanded prior to priming and painting. How difficult is it to paint wood kitchen cubboards?
I painted our wood effect kitchen doors. The paint is very gloss like, you just need to make sure you follow the instructions by only painting in one direction and watch out for drips!

Also, you will probably need a couple of coats but make sure you wait until they are fully dry before repainting.

It turns out well, but it is quite time consuming!
Agree it's all the prep work, but it will be worth it. Spend money on good paint and take the cabinets down. Take your time and realize it may take awhile. Here's a step by step:

WRONG%26lt;WRONG WRONG AGAIN you dont need primer. take the doors down and remove the hinges, I say again, remove the hinges. Then sand the cabinets and paint, very simple, done it a 1000 times
It`s the preparations that the difficult part.If you sand the wood work down, and choose your under coat as near to the top colour, you won`t go wrong.
It isn't hard to paint, but it is hard to take down the doors, strip, sand and then paint again.
