Be aware, however, that at the handles and edges, where your fingernails are likely going to scratch the surface the most, your paint will eventually come off, so you will have to do touch-ups probably every 2 years or so.

Do everything that Woodtick suggested, but use a paint brush and not a roller so you won't have that orange peel look on your cabinets. Ideally, spraying the paint on is the best, but not many people know how to do that professionally. We just painted ours with a brush and they came out very nice.
