How to paint wood stairs white?

I already primed the stairs with Kilz Oil Primer, now I bought Deck, Fence %26amp; Siding Wood Stain. I looked for floor paint but could not find it in white. The person at Home Depot said it would be fine to use. Now I also bought clear satin Polyurethane to put on top of it. My husband is worried that it will turn the white paint yellow. Is that true? Do I even need a coat of Poly if I use Deck paint?

Thank you for your help!!!How to paint wood stairs white?
I just bought Behr Porch and Floor paint at home depot that i'm putting over my behr oil based primer on my front porch. They had a brochure near the color chips that had a picture of a porch on it. The brochure was called ';Porch and Floor collection'; we chose a color out of that brochure, because it was so hard to decide on a color and the grl there at home depot mixed the paint for us. I have the brochure in my hand and there is a pure white paint chip in there so I'm not sure why you thought there was no white..

I'm kinda confused by your question how can stain penetrate oil based primer?

I think you are making it too difficult for yourself by adding the Polyurethane.

I've heard hat water based polyuretane won't yellow. How to paint wood stairs white?
You should use the Poly. There is a non-yellowing kind that should do the job.
