Is there something designed to fill and seal open grain interior wood panelling?WOOD FILLER - I have old open grain wood paneling I wish to paint. How do I prep it?
make sure you wipe down the walls first to remove dust and dirt if any. if you want smooth walls take wood filler skim coat, let it dry overnight then you can sand smooth, prime and paint. if you want to just seal it get a good primer then paint it. still wipe down walls firstWOOD FILLER - I have old open grain wood paneling I wish to paint. Try a primer. It won't make it smooth, but it should help seal it.
I would start by clean the walls real good first, there's 2 ways that u can do this, you either can us sheet rock mud skim a coat on an make sure there's enough in the groove that when it drys it want shrink. then let it dry for 24 or more hour's depends on the weather. then lightly sand an I would put a really good primer (don't skimp youv''e done the hard work).
or instead of using sheet rock you can use tape, tape all the way down covering all the opening. then prime an paint. it's not the best but it's fast an cheap
